How To Lose Weight Quickly
Updated: Dec 3, 2020
Many of us make very reasonable health-related goals.
Such as to lose weight, or join the neighborhood gym.
And while it's common for a lot of us to set these healthy goals, our lives these days are just too busy and it can be difficult to set some time aside to do these things.
No matter how hard we try.
Yes, going to the gym is a great idea, but, to be honest, it's not necessarily realistic.
These days, we're busier then ever!
Jobs, Kids (if you have any) and just Life in general gets in the way.
We know our health is important, we ALL know our health is important but for the average person to carve out an hour and a half to two hours a day to go to the gym is really unrealistic for most people.
9 Easy Tips To Lose Weight Quickly + Bonus Tip
1. Eat Breakfast
Sounds weird right?
An article about losing weight telling you to eat one of the most neglected meals of the day.
Who has time for breakfast anyway!
Well, breakfast eaters tend to weigh less and have better diets overall.
For a filling and nutrition-packed breakfast, use whole grain cereal and top it with fresh fruit slices and low-fat or fat-free milk.
2. Eat Salad
Do your best to have at least one green salad every day.
Eating a salad (with low-fat or fat-free dressing) is filling and may help you eat less during your meals.
It also counts toward your five daily cups of vegetables and fruits.
3. Take Small Steps
Do your best to use a pedometer to count your daily steps; then add 2,000, the equivalent of one extra mile.
Download the Free app called Pacer, available on iPhone and Android, to take advantage of this tip.
Keep adding steps, 1,000 to 2,000 each month or so, until you take 10,000 steps on most days.
4. Trim the Fat
Fat has a lot of calories, and calories count.
Give these a try.
Purchase lean meats.
Eat poultry without the skin.
Switch to lower-fat cheeses.
Use a nonstick pan with only a dab of oil or butter.
Incorporating these healthy habits will help you lose weight.
The smaller the bag, or bowl or bottle, the less you'll eat.
Try thinking twice about the portions that you're currently having.
Could your portions be halved?
If the answer is probably, then go for it. Reduce your intake of food and lose weight quickly.
6. Keep Track
Now, before you roll your eyes lol, what we mean by this is..
...write down what you eat over the next couple of days and look for problem spots.
Often, just writing things down can help you eat less!
7. Lose 5%-10%
Aim to lose just 5 to 10 percent of your current weight.
That's not too overwhelming is it?
By doing just this alone, the health benefits are huge.
You'll experience lower blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides.
[ We should mention, make sure you talk to your doctor before you start any type of diet or exercise plan. Only your doctor knows your specific needs and limitations (if you have any). You want to stay healthy so your doctors office is the first place to start. ]
Consider calcium by including two or three daily servings of low-fat or fat-free milk or yogurt.
Dairy calcium is good for bones and may also help you lose weight.
9. Reduce 'Junk Food'
Notice how we said 'reduce' and not 'eliminate'.
It's because we feel that it's very unrealistic to recommend that you cut out eating snacks forever.
Although junk food is a no-no when you're trying to lose weight, many people who do eat healthy foods still indulge in their favorite snacks from time to time.
There is nothing wrong with treating yourself from time to time as long as you don't make it a practice or overindulge.
